Restoration Talk: Multi-taxon approach for biodiversity conservation and management

Lessons-learnt from “BOTTOMS UP”
How can European forests be managed for biodiversity conservation? How can – the quite complex – biodiversity data be collected, how can progress be monitored in the best way, and what is needed from policy making? In our upcoming Forest Restoration Webinar on 13 November 2024, 4pm CET, we will feature a panel of speakers from COST-Action “BOTTOMS-UP”, a recently completed cooperation project that gathered information on forest multi-taxon biodiversity to inform sustainable forest management.
Sabina Burrascano (Sapienza University of Rome), Yoan Paillet (French National Institute for Agriculture, Food, and Environment, INRAE), and Flora Tinya (HUN-REN Centre for Ecological Research, Hungary) will share their lessons-learnt on biodiversity conservation and monitoring, the role experimental research can play, and discuss how this can be linked to forest ecosystem restoration approaches in Europe.
