Webinar: Forest adaptation and restoration – a global challenge with a local scope
How can we address the challenges of forest degradation and biodiversity loss while balancing the needs of local and global communities? Join us for our upcoming Forest Restoration Talk on 11 December 2024, at 4:00 PM CET, where we will explore these pressing questions.
In this webinar, Prof. Dr. Andreas Bolte and Alfred Aleje will discuss the challenges and opportunities of forest restoration, focusing on lessons learned from global and local perspectives. Prof. Dr. Bolte will begin by introducing forest adaptation and restoration on the global scale. Following this, Alfred Aleje will take us to southern Ethiopia, where a combination of active and passive restoration measures has proven effective in promoting plant diversity recovery at local and landscape scales.
